Sri Lanka, also known as “The Pearl of the Indian Ocean”, covers an area about the size of West Virginia in the United States, twice as big as Taiwan in Asia Pacific, and roughly the same size as Ireland. After the 2004 South Asian Tsunami and the end of the civil war in 2009, Sri Lanka initiated extensive construction activities and has gradually become a tourist attraction.
